Beware of the Scribes

(Mt 23:1-12, Mk 12:38-40, and Lk 20:45-47)

Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, saying, "The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses;"

A. Chair of Moses. This literally means, “serving as the Judge.”
